This was so fun, whimsical, and sweet. If you read Sorcery of Thorns, you are going to want to pick this sequel novella up and enjoy a little extra time with Elisabeth, Nathaniel, and Silas. It has a slightly fairytale feel to it, which I adored.

Honestly a great little novella leading back into this world. I think what made it even better was that despite not having read the OG book, A Sorcery of Thorns, in many years (I read it when I first came out lol), I didn't feel any kind of disconnect from the story or characters. Margaret Rogerson did a great job making sure that all relevant plot points from the predecessor novel were mentioned, and ya know maybe that speaks to how good the OG book was if I didn't need a refresher. A nice little rainy summer day read!

A fun return to a world with living books and a house with a mind of its own. The two romantic leads are charming, and this is a quick, fun, more lighthearted return exploration of this world.

I liked this sequel more than the main book but that might be because I love Silas.
