chavisa woods' power in making me love a book that includes the line "the glass made broken glass noises," and moreso, for that line. also I loved that it was a short story collection where the narrators felt very distinct from one another because I think it's easy to just slide along constructing an overarching voice throughout.

This weird little collection of weird little stories about queer rural goth trash has carved out a weird little space in my heart.

Most of these stories connected with the small town lady in me. Levels of spooky, being different in a small town, influences of religion, military, ghosts and UFOs. All rang true with my experiences growing up, and it was great to be able to read stories that spoke to those experiences and people I grew up around, with a unique storytelling perspective. I loved it!
