I love Pullman's "His Dark Materials," and I really didn't know what to expect from this book. I read it in one sitting and loved it. Heartbreaking.

(spoilers but not like, actual spoilers?)

I don't know.. I was angry at the main character from the very beginning and all the while was both hoping it would get a poetic conclusion and also desperately hoping it would not cause it wouldn't be fair. The end was an attempt at poetic feeling but in my opinion kinda missed the mark and romanticized a lot of things that really should not be romanticized.
