My overall thought of this book was that it was just okay. All these books feel the same and when listening to the audiobook they all sound the same. This book was only just okay. Surprisingly I did not DNF this book it was just okay. I feel like this topic has been done a lot in these types of books. This book to be honest fell flat, I did however finish it because I wanted to know what happened at the end. Also killing the guy off at the end WTF let him suffer in prison like WTF.

The story was good but the transitions between scenes were kind of choppy and the proofreading/editing was terrible. I found so many typos and an entire repeat sentence that just took me out of the story a bit.

I loved the set up of the book. The podcast the present crime the past murder all weaved together. The audio was good as the podcast sounded real. The only thing that bothered me was there was a lot of rape. As I try not to read books with this in them I was hooked before I knew it was in there. I did skip the detailed chapters but still bothered me

"To tell you the truth, I don't get how we can almost unanimously agree that murder is wrong, yet when it comes to rape, some people still see shades of gray." (pg 333)

This.

Be prepared to feel - anger, elation, frustration, satisfaction, disappointment - all the emotions.

But this story is important. It brings to light so many treacherous things in our judicial system, as well as our society at large.

PSA: if you see something, say something.
