Thanks my dear boyfriend for giving me this as a birthday present! <3

I really loved this one, it contains almost no words, but instead tells the story through illustrations. It was really a fun and sweet book about friendship between a girl and a robot. :) Definitely recommended.

Yeah, I gave it two stars, but it's because I am not the target audience here.  The main girl human is cool - thoughtful, curious, good with her hands, plucky - but I didn't think much of her basically stealing a robot from a factory.  On the other hand, the factory's retrieval bot was pretty heinous (did it eat a cat?!) and it got was coming to it... as it were.

It's cute, but the story is a little too derivative for my tastes. I understand it's for young readers, but that's not really a good enough reason. The artwork, however, is absolutely fantastic. I've literally used parts of this to teach students about how to "read" the art in a graphic novel

A Lilo and Stitch vibe. The toddler kept bringing it to me to read to her. She loves it!

How marvelous was this?!? A lonely little girl finds a lost little robot and they become friends! A graphic novel with few words and lots of adventure and feeling.

Hatke does such an amazing job with such little words. He is able to really impact the reader without saying more than a word. I love that the protagonist is such a unique, strong, little girl and that she is so innovative. Great theme of friendship and determination.

This book totally reminded me of Lilo and Stitch. I read it during a 15 minute break at work. The story, mostly told through the art, is one of unlikely friendship. Adventure and peril keep the reader engaged. Personally, I missed dialogue, but I think reluctant readers will love Little Robot.

This is a sweet and simple story of a lost robot who is befriended by a little girl. She takes care of the robot and helps create a circle of robot friends for both of them.

I am a fan of Ben Hatke's work and this delightful tale didn't disappoint. The book is practically wordless so it is an excellent option for even early readers. The story is told through images and lots of onomatopoeia (words that make sounds). Your elementary school-aged child will enjoy this sweet story.

I was torn about the rating of this one. On the one hand the artwork and simple storyline are captivating. On the other hand, the central character displays a lot of traits that I find distasteful.
