The definitive man vs. self story, in my opinion. Mother Night is what I'd wished Crime and Punishment would be.

I’m not sure how I feel about this book especially in the current times. But I will say it’s very ironic considering what’s happening in Palestine. Parts of the book are so relevant to the present.  It’s almost like we humans don’t learn anything from history.

Vonnegut is certainly right that we are who we pretend to be so we must be very careful who we pretend to be.

Not my favorite work of Vonneguts, but the ending is poetic as always. The characters are fleshed out in a way that feels melancholy.

I’m new to this app so I’m saving 5 stars for now but I found this harrowing, compelling, at times exciting, humorous, quirky, and sarcastic. Also sobering and thought provoking.

Vonnegut cleverly uses humor while making compelling and thoughtful points on morality in this fantastic book. Great, quick read that is timeless. 5 stars.
