Five additional vignettes from the lives of best friends George and Martha. Includes topics such as supporting one another, respecting privacy, and playing pranks.

What makes George and Martha books so appealing? There are a number of things - the dry wit, the cute illustrations, the adorable characters, the rich and playful lessons. My family and I love each and every book that we have discovered. We have had amazing discussions associated with the stories.

The edition I'm reading has all the George and Martha stories - listed as separate books. And additional introductions to boot. Unfortunately when I was reading this, the first book George and Martha (five stories in 48 pages) was conflated with the whole edition.
George and Martha. A simple picture book of short stories. A little too moralistic for me. But good enough art and text. Not bad. 3 stars.
The rest of the stories are generally good. And both the individual stories and the book are different from each other.
But the absolute standout of this collection is the various introductions and dedications from a number of other children's illustrators. In addition to being funny and interesting, though should an artist's and writer's perspective on what I see on the surface as simple children's stories.

Maybe these stories only slowly build. Or maybe the later of these books are just better. But on the surface they are still silly. But as in the previous book, Martha shines whether she is walking a tightrope or not forgetting to scare George. And George gets to change color again. Still a little lamer than I'd like. 3.5 of 5.
