Definitely not as good as the first book but I still love the story, and I think a cute little story about loving family is just what I need for Friday night. This series certainly has potential and I hope the author will improve in the third book because frankly this book is a slight disappointment. The heroine is not doing much and seems to be waiting for others to help her, a typical damsel in distress. In the first book the heroine was a lot toughe and tried to help others and solve problems rather than waiting to be saved but the rest of the family and Hudson, especially Hudson are cool and there are some memorable quotations too. Overall a satisfying read.

This was just so, so incredibly stupid. The fairy godmother was an idiot, and the things she did made absolutely no sense. I get that she's not supposed to be particularly great at her job, but she wasn't even fair, she was terrible. Nothing about this book was good, and for being a fluff book, it took way too long to read.

My Unfair Godmother was much better than My Fair Godmother but I dont regret reading the first book.

Chrysanthemum Everstar has another extra-credit project to do, and her project is 78% pathetic.

Tansy Miller's living with her father as her mother and sister are out traveling. Tansy is living in a world of hate toward her father who doesn't pay her any attention. Things spiral out of control when she's sent to jail for spray painting, which was the working of her boyfriend (major jackass). Soon Chrissy comes to help her but everything is crazy when Chrissy brings back Robin Hood and his Merry Men, who reek havoc all over town. To make matters worse, Chrissy sends Tansy and her family to the Middle Ages to relive the story of Rumpelstiltskin.

My Unfair Godmother was hilarious, especially in the last half. I was trying not to laugh out loud and look like an idiot in class. Seriously.

It's funny at the ridiculous situation they're in but Rallison weaves a story that will make you read it and want to finish it till the end. This book was much easier to get into than the first so that was good. Tansy was a better character than Savannah and loved the moments between Hudson and Tansy<3 So cute!

The ending was perfect and had a happy ending for all.

This was an interesting fairy tale book. There were definitely a lot of plot twists, so you can't say that it was predictable. I enjoyed reading about Tansy, and am not sure that I'd want a fairy godmother myself now. :)

I have been looking forward to reading Janette Rallison's My Unfair Godmother since I read her first novel about the neglectful fairy godmother Chrissy Everstar, My Fair Godmother (my review). The two novels only share her as a character and therefore can be read individually. In My Unfair Godmother Chrissy is back to wreak havoc in another teen's life by grossly misinterpreting her wishes.

In many ways this book is similar to its predecessor. Again you have a teen girl sent against her will into a fairy tale, a hot acquaintance of teenage girl ends up in the past for a longer period and is able to help her when she gets there, members of her family are also transported so defeating the magic becomes a team effort. I enjoyed the first novel and like Rallison's writing so the similarities didn't bother me. It was nice to be able to read something and know exactly what I was getting: a humorous yet thoughtful romantic story with fairy tale tropes and a happy ending.

I admit that I was a little nervous about the fairy tale Rallison was tackling with this one. Rumpelstiltskin is such a disturbing tale that it is a difficult one to do a reimagining of and not veer into the creepy. It is just a creepy story. Rallison managed it though, baby and all, and how she did it was inventive. Tansy is sympathetic yet flawed as well and Hudson is a perfect fairy tale hero. I also enjoyed the story of Tansy's relationship with her father, stepmother, and stepbrother.

Overall I liked the first one a little better, mainly because I liked Tristan as a hero more than Hudson and I thought the first one was more amusing. This is a very nice one too for those looking for more of the same and I will certainly read it if Rallison ever writes a third installment.

Overall I enjoyed the first one more, some of the plot seemed too much like the first. However this book doesn't disappoint and the plot is different enough from the first book to keep it entertaining. I'd love to see our dear 'fair' godmother get in on some of the adventure and maybe learn a lesson or two in the coming books.

Just as good as the first. I found myself actually laughing more in this one and really wondering how the heck it would turn out.
