This Michael Bennett story is a BookShot, meaning it is a quick read. Michael and his family attend the Thanksgiving Day parade when a supposed terrorist drives a truck into the crowd, narrowly missing Mike and his family. Then, Michael chases the terrorist, but he escapes. Mike is assigned to work on the task force with the FBI and a Russian source.
This is a timely story, considering the terrorist attacks around the world. This one has a twist, though.
I liked this book because it was fast-paced, while still having a good amount of action.

This was tacked on the end of Ambush. I don't normally read the book shots but this took me about an hour. Nice tidy little story.

When a pick-up truck runs into a crowd of spectators watching a Thanksgiving Day Parade, it happens directly in front of Michael Bennett and his family. He takes it as a personal threat and vows to find those responsible.

I thought this was a very good short story. The plot, suspense and action were all there. I was a bit disappointed at the ending which I found to be somewhat vague and wish the outcome was different.

Another Michael Bennett novella sees the typical over saccharine scenes with the children including the one in the slammer. Why is it that his child who is in jail for dealing drugs is such a good young man and yet he thinks that every other criminal type is the scum of the earth?
Anyway apart from the horribly written family scenes, the rest of the plot is quite dull and this again feels like a money spinner and does not add anything to the overall series.

3.5! Even though it was a little too short and way predictable....Really good read, but it left me wanting more...I do wish the Russians reappear for a GOOD novel!
