No weapon formed against me shall prosper!

Even though Jake Parker survived the tragic happenings of war and his best friend did not, he managed to do more than just survive. He was able to adjust to living this new normal life, especially after he met his deceased fellow soldier and best friend Myles Redding's sister Lakia and her son Isaac. He fell in love with them both and wanted to make both of them his family. Even little Isaac fell in love with Jake and wanted him for his father. There was just one big problem, Lakia's crazy and controlling ex, and Isaac's father. He was not having this relationship between Lakia and Jake even though she told him over and over they were through.

Blue wrote a very poignant story of what our injured warriors go through when the combat is over and now they have to learn to live around their injuries to live a fulfilling life with family. It also was a testament to the very real things that can happen with domestic disturbances, especially when one of the party is off-kilter. This story held my interest from beginning to end. I'm so happy Jake and Lakia got their HEA.
