While the concept of the story intrigued me, I ended up not liking it as much as I suspected. This volume made me dislike Suwa, as he is portrayed to be an envious, self-centred and competitive individual instead of the self-sacrificing jokester that he appears to be in the first five volumes of the story. The grief experience seems somewhat reasonable, but unfortunately it more-than-often makes him seem less likeable, as his grief does not seem entirely genuine because he is still competing with Kakeru and using him even after he is gone. The ending of this volume seems immature for their age. Flashbacks are also not well defined in the art, making it confusing what time frame you are reading from. Apart from these elements, I did enjoy the story overall, as its tone from the first five volumes remained consistent throughout this one.

I found this was a touching end to the story of orange. I'm happy we got to see the impact of kakeru death in the alternative future. It add more depth to the character suwa, and help to answer the question of how naha and suwa got toghter. Which I found was heartbreaking at the best of times.
