I received an advanced readers copy of Bullied by Andie M Long which is a dark psychological suspense thriller that will be released on September 21, 2020.

The book does come with a WARNING: 18+ contains dark themes

I absolutely love Andie's books! This is the first #DarkAndie book that I have read of hers and it definitely won't be my last. This book kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

This is a difficult topic that needs to be addressed and I think Andie did an amazing job addressing it. I loved that we got the different perspectives of the situation from Carla, Lena, Sophie, and Marcus. It shows that there is always three sides to every story.

I would highly recommend this book if you like psychological thrillers or suspense thrillers.

This was a really great story - nice twists I did not seeing coming.
I enjoyed the mix of occasional POVs.

I listened on Audible and my only critique is the narrator was very monotone.

SpoilerI also love how the title lets you know Bull Lied, which is the biggest telltale of the story. Very creative.

I've read Andie Long's other dark stories, so I fully expected to be sucked in. I also expected this one to go places that would be shocking and twisted. My expectations were met and then some, but I don't care to admit that I had a hard time with this one. There are some personal reasons for that struggle, and no, they don't have anything to do with being bullied or even dealing with a bully, but that struggle was very real. What it came down to is that there were times I had to walk away for a bit, but these characters pulled me back every time. I absolutely had to know how it all turned out. This one is dark, twisted, emotional, gritty, and absolutely compelling. It is about one girl being bullied, but it's also about the impact on all those concerned - even on the periphery. It's also about family, and friendships, and how the reasons behind certain actions aren't always what they seem. How the answers aren't so cut and dried, how everything isn't usually so black and white and there's a lot more gray than we often realize. I'll say again that this book is not at all easy to read and so much of it is heartbreaking, but it's also a book that begs to be read if that makes sense. It's definitely not one that I'll soon forget.

I didn’t see anything wrong with the mother’s reactions. I just thought she loved her daughter. I disagree with Sophie saying Carla helped kill Lena. It is the depression talking to Lena.

Holy Smoke! I really thought I knew where this book was going...guess what? I was wrong! I should have known ..this author is able to surprise me over and over. So I loved most of the story. Is it shocking? Yes! Does it make me think? Yes! Is it relatable? Very much so! I did struggle with all the different POV after a certain point. It felt repetitive and to be honest I scanned some of those pages.

The characters are portrayed very well and real. I could empathize with them as well as say...What are you thinking?!

So bottom line...the story is great and really makes me think. It twisty and dark but yet some how seems realistic. I love these darker sides of this author.
