I’m such a sucker for Becky Chambers now. She provides the perfect escapism between my emotionally heavier reads. This one was my favorite by her yet! It actually had a gripping plot line and dove deeper into some of the philosophical aspects of her characters and world building. I won’t be able to resist long in picking up the next book. :)

Another great character arc in the Wayfarers universe. Not as strong as the first book and with far fewer characters, but I did enjoy the flashbacks alternating with the present. This story felt far less expansive than the first one, and the writing itself was much more repetitive. The overuse of the word “really” in the flashback chapters was starting to drive me nuts by the end.

I loved this book, Sidra and Pepper are both such cool loveable characters and I had a great time getting to know them. Baby Jane made me so sad, and I definitely cried reading some of her bits, and Sidra's journey of discovery and her struggle to understand who she was and what her place in the world is was so emotional and relatable too. I love Tak and Blue too. Basically it was a great book about friendship, love, connection, and what it means to be a person. Highly recommend.

The AIs are the best part of the book.
