2.5⭐️ friends to lovers, they both liked each other as kids but neither knew. Gracie moves to NYC to escape her family while Liam is traded to a NYC hockey team after being kidnapped. They kindle love and the rest is history. This was a slow read for me, not a slow burn necessarily I just didn’t get hooked but that’s just me!

The book summary really is missing one key aspect of what’s going to go happening, so I went into this one thinking this be a more lighthearted affair.  even with the trigger warning note my thought was it would just be small element/reference to understand someone’s back story. So I was caught off guard at just how much it drove one character,
and the whole book. So in that respect it wasn’t as lighthearted as I was expecting.
It took a bit for the characters to grow on me, but am glad I stuck it out. Once I got to maybe 1/3 through it I was starting to enjoy the story more and the characters.

I really enjoyed how much time this story spanned, felt like there was enough time to flesh out Gracie and Liam's story. I like instalove stories but I really love living in a story for a long time like this one.

This book is a masterpiece I've not read a hockey romance like it. The characters are beautifully developed and emotionally mature. The story grips you and doesn't let go. I could not recommend it more.
