This is definitely one of the more interesting Astartes chapters. The flesh tearers are possibly the most savage of the loyalist chapters, they settle arguments with headbutts or full on murder; and they're the good guys. I absolutely love the characterization in this novella, it shows a chapter that on the inside is tearing itself apart while on the outside it's being torn apart by dinosaurs and nasty plants.
Which brings me to what I didn't like: the battles being fought. Aside from one interesting scene where they're strafing a building sized beast with gunships, the dinosaurs didn't make for very interesting enemies, which is why it's a good thing there wasn't a lot of focus on that conflict.
