Honestly, I only feel half entitled to rate this work because Boochani's writing was at times so lyrical that I would stop listening to the audiobook while it kept playing to repeat sections of it over and over in my head (the chapter titles? since when could they be poetry??), and sometimes so evocative that I would stop listening despite the book still playing, and lose my train of thought reflecting on the occurrences he was narrating. I'm leaving this on my TBR list, but want to delve into the physical book so that I know I've absorbed every single word like it deserves.

One of the most impactful books I've ever read. Heartbreaking and beautiful.
