This book seems like bad stand up comedy for kids. I was a little disappointed.

I really enjoyed the twist in this book. Instead of Hubie theorizing when his new (insert occupation here) will be like, his teacher worries about what her new students will be like.
Very funny, great illustrations, as always.This one is the least morbid/gruesome I have read by far. There are still plenty of hilarious moments and great monster pictures, but without the darkness of many of the previous books.
Grown ups will enjoy this book too because of all of the word play involved. A fun book for all ages.

Growing up, I absolutely loved the Black Lagoon picture book series. They were the perfect balance of scary and silly for me. I was really excited when I saw that there was also a Black Lagoon chapter book series.
The structure is very similar to the picture books with hilarious and horrifying artwork, all the puns, and great creativity and imagination. It was nice to read a longer format of the story.
With large text and short chapters, this is a nice simple chapter book. While there are many jokes that I am sure will go over a lot of kids' heads, the story was fun to read, especially for older kids who liked the picture books.

I like how this explored teachers’ job anxieties and how it exaggerated the unsavory things kids sometimes do.
