I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. This book is beautiful, hilarious, and devastating. There was one recurring conflict that I think we might have taken one more lap around than necessary, but I don't even care, I enjoyed this book so much.

However, the novel's sheer compression of relentless suffering into a single singularity causes it to collapse in on itself.
