Whoa, for a short book narrated by a gopher, this one packed a punch. Filled to the brim with info about the Big Bang and other geological science, I thought it was a solid nonfic read that younger readers would get a lot out of. I do think the gopher might make it a little juvenile for any older young adult readers.

This is a delightful and accessible book that should appeal to both children and adults. The book is suitable for older primary grades on up and provides a concise and entertaining introduction to the geological history of the earth as narrated by a gopher to an earthworm.

When I started this, I liked the graphics and the science, but wasn't a fan of the very cheesy jokes. Then my fiction-loving 8-year-old decided to pick up the book and thought it was hilarious. So clearly, the book hits its target audience. Good choice for a reluctant nonfiction reader.

I enjoyed this whirlwind tour of geology even more than the Science comics book because of the cute narrator and general good humor! Really approachable and enjoyable without getting to deep into high school level detail. Recommended grades 3-6.
