This book is good. It speaks with poise and feeling about the issues that LGBTQ+ people face in society. Iâ€™ve been reading quite a few books in a similar vein recently.

But 1 thing I canâ€™t get over is the privilege the MCâ€™s always have. Yes, I recognize that they are lack many privileges due to social prejudices. But I canâ€™t ignore the fact that they also possess many. Either theyâ€™re white, or rich or media famous and they always, always have 1 safe place to turn to. Where are the books about the numerous LGBTQ+ individuals who are PoC, who struggle to pay the bills and who have no one to turn to?

I've seen so many authors deal with deadnaming in such a respectful way, but Sanchez chooses to have a character continually deadname. I want to think the author had a reason for doing so, but it was horrible to read. Deadnaming and bullying aside, the pink cover lets you know all you need to know about this otherwise rosy novel.
