Revisiting Letter from Birmingham Jail is always an arresting experience. Perhaps the most readable, incisive, and radical from one of the most important and eloquent leaders.
Also, the additional selection of The Three Dimensions of a Complete Life was excellent. Reading the sermon of King’s both highlights his preaching and thinking later in his life and also provides genuinely moving insights on life, The Bible, America, and the human condition.

Everyone should read this letter at least once.
Listened to a recording of his sermon, very very powerful speaker. Felt his voice through to my core.

shows that radicality doesn't need to be violent or destructive, that it needs to be based on philosophy and self-reflection and that christianity can be the foundation of emancipation

The fact that he had to spend some time just for his just opinion upon unjust laws, still baffles me.

As with all of King's writings, I was moved and inspired. He expressed my sentiments about the religious leaders of the day. Where were they? Why did they not preach against the injustice of segregation laws and racism? They did not want to get involved in such matters. It is the same today with the environment. Clergyman do not want to get involved in this argument about saving the Earth, when to me, it seems the most important "religious" matter on our agenda today.

Such an incredible & poignant letter by the late Martin Luther King Jr. There were so many sentences where I would have to stop and take in the powerful statements being made. His pleas were heartbreaking. Can't recommend this enough to anyone who wants to read about the brutal reality of being Black in the 60s fighting for their rights, and having it constantly denied
