Yep, it is getting more serious. I can imagine that Domeki was pissed, but I also admire Watanuki and what he did for Domeki. It is a big sacrifice. But yes, he needs to learn that while he did that, he does leave scars with the rescued person. Which is understandable. No one wants their friend to be hurt. Next up is a haunted photograph and someone who has something to do with what is happening in that picture. OH my. I remember this one very clearly and I was just eagerly waiting for the finish, it was a big one with hefty consequences. And in the mean time we see that something is happening with Watanuki's eyes. Which of course will come back later in the series. I just adored what Domeki was doing for Watanuki though. OH and more hints to Himawari and what is going on with her. Eep! While I would love to read some more, it is late and I don't want to read the series in one go (though it is tempting).
4 > 5 stars.

This is one of my favorite volumes of xxxHOLiC because so many damn things happen. Doumeki and Watanuki's right eyes, sacrifice, the book worm, gay subtext - this is why I love you, xxxHOLiC!

Volume 7 of xxxHolic is to me one of the heavier in the series. Watanuki due to a mistake made by Domeki takes upon himself the grudge of a spider and looses his right eye. While Yuko take into her store a photograph hiding the customers deepest secret. Even though Yuko tries to contain the spirit in the photo Watanuki can tell that it is no ordinary picture and the secret can no longer be contained. What her customer pays to be free of this secret will nearly impossible to acheive.
I don't want to give away to much to this volume. Just trust me and read the series. Has always 5 stars in never enough for xxxHolic.

Wow this one went dark. I'm starting to get really invested in the relationship between Domeki and Watanuki.
I'm also intrigued at the suggestion that Himawari might be evil in some way

Finally it seems that the plot is starting to reveal itself. Getting good!
Dispite Watanuki trying to act like he doesn't like Dômeki, it's nice to see him trying to help him by taking the spider's punishment. Even bringing him lunch that wasn't asked for.

The fact that Himawari's book contained the pesky bookwork that was intended to be taken home to Dômeki's home is very suspicious. I feel that she is playing them both, that's why she's "friendly" to them, but not dating either. I'm curious as to where this is going.

I really liked the depiction of what a book worm is in this story. Eating the words from books is crazy, creative and would be infuriating!
