super economical. very plot-driven, nearly no description, but manages to sink you into a really solid sense of alien place. love the intrigue and the beasties. kind of left me wanting more detail and atmosphere to sink my teeth into, but i have very specific tastes. china meville LET me see the beasts up close please. really fresh and inventive sci fi, does a bunch of things ive never seen done before!
