Beginning the book, I remained unsure of whether or not it would have the ability to draw me in. Queenie was a character I did find challenging to stick to at first, her personality I found to be a bit irritating and self-deprecating constantly- Queenie is a very complicated and complex woman living in the UK who is experiencing traumatic changes in her life after the other. The synopsis was without a doubt enough for me to at least give it a try. WOW! I was left feeling uplifted, though there are issues I take with the choices characters made, and at times, the writing did feel drawn out and repetitive, I loved my time with this book, a wonderful option to get me out of my slump!

So this was not an "Easy" book to read although I read it quickly. I was totally and completely invested in Queenie and although I did not agree with her actions I cared for her and wanted to see how things turned out. Many things were frustrating and upsetting but it was a good book non-the less.

This book started off slow but ended very well. I highly recommend!
