Author has some good imagination. I wished to taste the prose and it was better than I expected but still not good enough for me to want to carry on with sequels. The screen adoption has just the right pace - something you can't say for the book. TBH, tbe story seemed to be more meant to be seen rather than read.

Though in all fairness, generic fantasy was never cup of cold-drink and there are some differences in presentation of story, so wouldn't want to put anyone off.

“If I look back, I am lost.”

This has got to be the best set up for a series I have ever read. So detailed and personal while being so expansive and surprising at every turn of the page. I can’t wait to keep digging into these!

At first, I was really into this book, but the end, for some reason, dragged on a bit for me -- maybe because I didn't want to keep getting sad again and again. Still, will definitely read the other books in this series.
