I thought this was a good read, a plot centred on loyalty, love and betrayal. Not perfect by any means and with gaps such as why certain actions and some characters could have been fleshed out a bit more.

Sadly the book marks the last complete John le Carre novel, but thankfully he left us 26 mostly excellent works and this one was a very good one, not on par with the Smiley series but better than several other efforts.

I've read quite a number of John le Carré books and have really enjoyed them all. Always enjoyed a good spy/espionage book and le Carré is probably the best in this field. A literary giant indeed.
