I've been wanting to read this for a while, and now it's quite timely with all the hatred directed towards Asian-Americans - here is a story about what happens when the government sanctions such hatred. It's not a story we learn about in school but it is told very well here, both the personal story and the historical context.

very informative, personally i didn't know at all about the sufferance endured by the JP people in the USA . tho it's no surprise the USA has a dirty history and still do t this day
the story was told beautifully i finished in one settings
i was surprised by the stand of the author and how he believed in a "free democratic" country but as the pages folded i kinda of understand his point and respect it. i saw resistance from another light
