Kind of an uncomfortable read, but totally worth it.

Be careful of spoilers.

These three pages laid out the most earth-shattering plot twist ever. How can I recover from this?

I really enjoyed this story, I found it shocking at times and the twist at the end was brilliant.
I am usually not a huge fan of short stories, but this one is definitely a good read.

I was so determined not to read this short story that everyone seems to have enjoyed. Not really sure of my reason though. But if I keep seeing it almost everyday on my feed, how can I not.. Fine, I admit defeat. I gave up. I just want to know what the hilarious twist everyone was talking about and ... it was disappointing.

Okay in my defense, I think, my disappointment just have something to do with... I don't know? Maybe I expected too much. Really. I'm not sure why I didn't quite like it. My eye brows were furrowed in the entire duration of me reading this short story. Of course, I didn't see that ending coming, but still my brow stayed where it was maybe 2 minutes after finishing it. I felt like the author tried too hard on misleading the reader and I didn't like it. It was manipulative.. and unrealistic. Okay I should stop. Maybe I was just in a foul mood when I read it.

But still, read it. It was okay.. Maybe you'll actually like it and I'm just such a party-pooper.

Heh heh.

Firstly, Andy Weir (he of [b:The Martian|18007564|The Martian|Andy Weir|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1413706054s/18007564.jpg|21825181] fame) has written a fundamental, universal truth in this short, short story of his. It goes like this: "Tip for all you guys out there: If a woman is asleep, let her sleep."

Secondly, it made me giggle (and I felt a certain kinship to the main character Annie).

Lastly, did I mention it's super short and freely available here. That's what's officially known as a "no-brainer".
