If your critique of this novel is, “NUH UH. THIS DIDNT ACTUALLY HAPPEN,” then you are a no-fun-haver and I don’t need to associate with you.

It’s a spooky story written in an intriguing and suspenseful tone. One of the more entertaining reads I’ve accomplished this year.

I liked the story because it kept me interested and creeped me out. 2 things that are great. But the second I found out the Warrens got involved I said this is all horsesh*t. They got in over their heads and couldn’t afford this home so they mad up this tall tale!

this book scared the bejeezus out of me. it was scarier than any movie made about it could ever be.

even though i'd watch the movie w/ ryan reynolds in it anytime, anywhere. but i guess that has nothing to do w/ reading, does it?

This was spooky enough, I suppose, & I can see why it would seem super scary to people at the time it was published. I know that there is a lot of controversy about this story, so I don't really believe much, if any, of it. It's decent enough for a fictional horror .

It was slow at times, & I felt that the writing was too drawn out & repetitive.
dark informative mysterious sad tense fast-paced

Whether it is true or not, I enjoyed reading this tale. My hope is to experience something such as this, as it seems frightening and I can’t imagine not feeling comfort in my own home.

After reading this I slept at night without any nightmares. Odd noises in the night didn't worry me or elevate my heartbeat. A quick and entertaining read, though not the best written book I've ever read.

I have seen both versions of the movie and this is my first experience with the book. Very interesting account.

Just read The Exorcist.

Cheap and cheesy. Probably not true, despite [a:Jay Anson|106463|Jay Anson|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1353690920p2/106463.jpg]'s efforts to assure readers that it is true.
