Rather than being a novel, this was more of a non-fiction account of the Lutz experience at the Amityville home. I would say that a good portion of the book examined the Catholic perspective on cases like this. It was really interesting to read about the relationship between religious mysticism and scientific doubt. On the other hand, I can confidently state that my horror era is over. This book was scary as hell, but the family was stupid as hell. In my culture, we don’t do stupid shit like purchase a home that’s known for its creepy shit, then stay in that same home while our family members are talking to imaginary friends that want us dead and levitating over their beds, and we most definitely don’t play with our dead.

It was an okay story. Did not really dive deep into the explanation as to how things really did occur, which goes to show how it was a made up story. I really thought that there was going to be a connection with the bar and the specific drink that George would always want, but maybe that was just what I was hoping for to the story to expand on.
