I made it to 74% done but couldn't finish. I hate to give a one star but I can't muster up an "It was okay" 2-stars. It's not often I feel bad for the narrator for having to read a book but this one made me think about that several times.

So here are the things that really did not work for me:

- too many coincidences and connections. This is LA not a small town where everyone knows each other. I might have bought even some of it had they been in the same industry or social standing but no. It was too much. Too many characters associated with Mel and AJ had contact with each other when even one or two would have been suspect.

- Mel's ex and anything having to do with the media (paparazzi, articles, social media) was SO OVER THE TOP mean that it was just unreal. Again, just too much.

- The writing itself wasn't great. I mean, odd phrases or things that made no sense. Like "The coast of the bright light was clear" when referring to a light being shone in someone's eyes. I know that's not a huge deal but there were other things with the writing that made it hard to get into the story and to connect to the characters.

It takes a lot for me to get this far in a book and still quit but it was aggravating. I liked the premise a lot and kept waiting for the action and character depictions to get better for me. But they didn't.

Just took a peek at other reviews and I'm very much in the minority. Glad others were able to ignore or didn't notice the things that killed this reading experience for me.

I honestly picked this up for an easy read before bed to see some queer happiness, and I didn't expect to love it, and the main characters, so much!

Well written representation will always have my heart. Not only do we have wlw and mlm romances, we also got autistic rep, and a non binary character in a happy relationship.

It's so rare to see autistic characters portrayed well, especially female ones. Books I've read in the past seem to focus only on the challenges that being neurodivergent brings, so it's refreshing to see the focus on positives here.

This was a really solid debut and had very nuanced representations of neurodivergent characters. I felt the end was a bit rushed which didn’t match the pacing elsewhere in the novel. It was a super slow burn and then got amped up with what felt like little warning. I don’t mind spice lol but I didn’t feel like, after waiting so long, that the scene we got was what I had in mind.

5/5. I think I’ve found my new favourite trope! Celebrity/non-celebrity romance! This was such an adorable listen. I loved everything about it but especially Parker, she was the cutest kid ever. Her relationship with Mel was so beautiful, especially when they went to the space museum. I liked that Mel also was on the spectrum that almost made her bond with Parker instantly. It was very touching. I loved how Mel and AJ’s relationship blossomed from friends to lovers.
Mel telling AJ she lost Parker was the cutest thing ever. Plus their first kiss was adorable and little sleep over was just teeth rotting. The three ladies entire relationship is adorable. Having Parker involved in proposal was the cutest thing ever. Once again, read beautifully by Abby Craden. I used cute a lot in this review but cute was the only appropriate one for me ❤️

One of the loveliest stories I've ever had the pleasure to read. Overall, it's quite low on drama and I love it for that. There is some tension throughout the book that makes it more interesting. But nothing overwhelming nor OTP. I loved that the story focused on just a few characters, mostly the MCs and the cutie Parker. With the exception of someone I won't deign mention the name, all the characters were great!

I had a big smile plastered on my face during practically all the reading and definitely would love to read more about them.

Let me start by saying that I’m really glad this book popped up in my feed.
Mel, a high profile actress literally ran over AJ and her daughter outside of an ice cream shop. AJ was overwhelmed and angry after this encounter. The two meet up again in a couple more chance meets, the final being where AJ saved Mel’s life.
Slowly the two began building a relationship and it was nice to see the development between these two. Parker, AJ’s daughter was an integral part of the book and I commend our author for not only including a character on the autism spectrum but for handling it with such care and respect. Without Parker we would not have this wonderful book. The dialogue between all characters was natural and the figurative language added to the plot. It was relatively drama free and while Mel’s celebrity status played a part in this book, wasn’t the whole focus and wasn’t a reason for them to break up (I enjoyed a non-breakup for once).
There were a few grammatical errors but no significant enough to ruffle my feathers. Overall this was a really well written book and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!
