it probably wasn't the best book to listen to on a audiobook. too many characters and confusing story.

I'm being very generous with my 2-star rating here. After all, I thought what I was going to get with this book was a gripping, detective/noir story set in 1930s Germany. Instead, I got a book where the author spends more time on overusing similes & metaphors, unnecessary sex scenes, and making me dislike the main character so much (for the little we get to know about him) that I'm distracted from what is otherwise a pretty decent plot set in an intriguing time period. It's a shame because the author really crafted a crime that I felt invested in, and managed to capture the atmosphere of the location, but everything written around it is just not good at all. What's sad is that my copy of this is from the "Berlin Noir" omnibus which contains two more books in this "trilogy," but I definitely will not be reading them.

Histoire un peu endormante. Je continue la trilogie afin de savoir ce qui est arrivé à Inge.

Excellent first entry in the series. Best part is the setting. So much historical perspective and interesting places and people.
