This is the first Tommy and Tuppence mystery I've read, and I really enjoyed it. I like the two main characters. A happily married couple, they are more normal and likeable in themselves than either Poirot or Miss Marple. The mystery itself was intriguing, with lots of red herrings that turned out not to be, in the end.

One of my fav Christie stories so far (I’m on the road to Christie completionism). I LOVE Tuppence, I want to be her when I’m older. She’s the exact kind of person I’d want to be friends with.
Most of the stars come from the vibes alone. The mystery is a little less concise/more rambling than I’d normally expect from a Christie novel, but I was definitely invested. I read this on the bus and had to keep myself from laughing at snide little remarks Tuppence or the other characters make. And let us not forget the poor chickens that are sacrificed to bad cooking. Rest in peace.

This was another one of Agatha Christie's books where the ending made sense but various parts of the story didn't.
