I liked this one a lot better than the 2nd in the series. The author is certainly very good at character development, and this character was much more interesting. It revealed a lot more of the actual issues at hand which made continuing in the series more interesting.
4.5 stars. Juliette is now sheriff, and she begins investigating the prior sheriff's desire to go outside. What happens next really starts the wheels turning on this story. Excellent!
Now that we've finally reached a section of the story that includes characters that I care a little more about, I've grown more interested in what's happening in the silo. I really like Juliette as a tough, no nonsense type of person. There isn't quite enough conflict to really make this book all that gripping however, though I did find it interesting how book three is more of a mystery novel then it is sci-fi. Overall though, it was just an okay story.
Interestingly this had my favorite character but it is also the book that has ended the series for me. I just don't really care all that much about the world. The writing is good and I can see where others will like it but I am done with the series.
The mysteries are just getting deeper. I finished this one last night and really wanted to start book 4, but I don't have it yet. Will be buying it on Amazon today. This is a really great sci-fi series by an indie author.
Wow! This partwork took a turn, in a much better direction and gave the story a whole new direction. The first parts were an "ok" read, but this resets the standard and gives a whole new scope as to where this story is now heading. Love the plot, clever and intricate. Keeps you guessing. Can't wait for the next part.
Alright, now this is getting good. I like the characters, and we get to keep most of them, the plot is really starting to heat up. I think I like it.
As the story expands, the world of Wool gets more fleshed out and more fascinating. I love Juliette; it is very nice to see a well-written female character by a male author (it happens way less often than I'd like). The writing is crisp. The atmosphere in the silo is bleak and suffocating, the tension is palpable, and the suspense builds up constantly. The pacing is great, and the action picks up nicely from the previous installment. The tone is quite different from the first novella, the one that sucked me into the series -less of a haunted feel and more of a suspense - but I still enjoyed it immensely. Unlike some other series I have read, it feels that the author has a good vision of where his story is headed and is not in danger of losing control over the story arc.
The ending of this one is great. Immediately moving on to the next installment. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this series!

What a bang of a start and finish. I raced through this installment at breakneck pace.
Same as before - great writing, everything moves along speedily, and you real feel for the characters.
On to part 4!

On to part 4!
Much better! The story is really beginning to pick up. I'm glad I trudged through the earlier books. There was always an untold and interesting story just beneath the surface of this world in a silo that kept me going. Finally, finally, the riveting story is being revealed!
