This was so hard to listen to. Bad writing and unlikeable characters littered the several chapters I managed to force myself through. I could say a lot about it, but I try not to shit talk books even if I don't like them. What I'll say is this: the writing lacks structure, constantly drops the tension to pivot to unimportant characters and tangents, often makes very little sense and frustrated the hell out of me.
It's especially a shame because both the premise and summary of the book are great and I wanted to power through the book's many faults to get some kind of reward, but I lost hope after it took five full chapters for Alice and various medical professionals to even realise that she had amnesia.
My recommendation is to save yourself the time and google the plot. It's certainly what I'll be doing.

I absolutely had to know what happened next. Would Alice recover her memory? Would she be happier with her new life than her old life? Would she and her husband work things out? I was constantly filtering through questions in my mind and that made the reading experience even better. It was exactly how I felt while reading Big Little Lies, so clearly, that means that Liane Moriarty is an excellent author. She knows how to pull you into a plot right away!
It was one of those books that kept me crawling back for more. I found myself listening to it while brushing my teeth or walking to get the mail - simple things made more enjoyable because this book was so interesting. The literal only thing that kept me from rating it with five stars was the ending. Everything just
Now that I've read two of Moriarty's books, I'm even more excited to continue my journey through her novels!
