To be honest, I'm not all that interested in the parts where Kamala is all superhero-y and bashing bad guys. What I love about this series is its heart. I love that it examines the immigrant experience, the tension between generations and cultures. I love that it dissects gamer culture and rape culture. I love that Kamala is struggling to make sense of her place in the world and what it means to be on the cusp of adulthood. All of these complexities and nuances are what make this series such a winner. I will never cease to be grateful that I got to witness the great strides in representation that have been made in media, whether it's books, comic books, movies, TV shows, or video games. Bravo to telling stories that have long been given short shrift, and bravo to stories that don't shy away from the gray areas that make life so confusing at times.

There are only 4 issues in this volume and they go by so fast!
The Loki one-off was cute. The end. The 3 issue arc with some new characters was better.

Ms. Marvel meets Loki! And (Jemma) Simmons!

I'm way more excited that she met Simmons. Because heart eyes.

Ah, the perils of dating as a superperson. Kamala is so adorable, even without her superpowers I think she's a fantastic character. This series isn't exciting me as much as it did in the first volume, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying it.

I still devoured this, but it's definitely my least favorite of the three. I'm so hopeful that this is a fluke. Maybe I'm just not into the idea of Kamala focusing more on love than on saving Jersey City?

Actual rating is 3.5 stars, but Goodreads doesn't do decimals.
