Very informative. This definitely clarified a lot of things for me about what's going on in Palestine and I learned a lot. May we see a free Palestine soon.

The book covers the war on Palestine from British colonialism through the Balfour Declaration to the Trump administration. It discusses the erasure of Palestinian identity and history to justify their oppression. The book does not excuse Hamas. It is essential reading to understand the current situation. The UK has arguably been the root cause of the current situation, which has been devastating the lives of the people of Palestine for decades. However, you do not have to be a geopolitical expert to know that genocide is wrong.

Great introduction to how the Palestine/Israel conflict came about. I like how Rashidi gave a lot of context beyond the usual 1948 narrative but told in simple language (hard for academics to do this lately, like I like Ilan Pappe but sometimes his sentences get very confusing) so it's easy to understand.
Key highlights for me:
1. Learning how the Israel employs divide-and-conquer tactics against the Palestinian leadership (PLO, Hamas)
2. How PLO was actually a pretty weak organisation detached from the everyday realities since they were exiled for so long and even when they were allowed back into Palestine, they were given privilege passes, allowing them to bypass the many checkpoints that Israel has put in place
3. How the Arab states actually betray their Palestine brothers by going into deals and normalising ties with Israel
