What a confusing, yet satisfying read. The ending was one of the most insane endings I’ve ever read. Once again, the characters are a delight - the Letheri are fantastic, and the Bonehunters never cease to entertain. The only downside was the whole business with the Barghast - perhaps Erikson will make it worthwhile in the end, but the whole business with Hetan felt awful to read, and by and large the whole Barghast plot line felt unnecessary. That lowered the overall rating to a 3.75/5 stars, rounded up to 4. Onto the final book of the series.
