On Haunted Ground is a book wrote by Lisa Rogers who tells of her experiences of living in a house that is haunted with ghosts, and not just one or two, but a large variety of them that all manifest in different ways and different times.

Lisa explains how she first learnt about her resident ghost and how she reacted to it, and as her children grew how they both had differing opinion about them. Lisa and her daughter believing whilst her husband and son didn't believe. We follow Lisa as each chapter explains about the different parts in her life and the ghosts that manifested them.

I especially loved how Lisa explains about visiting a haunted hotel where they take part in a behind the scenes tour and how what happened there enabled her husband to believe.

I love reading books about real ghost sightings and actually had goosebumps reading this book. I plan to buy an actual copy of this book when it it released to add it to my ever growing collection of paranormal books.

On Haunted Ground is a true account by Lisa Rogers of her experiences with ghosts, particularly within in her family home. These largely benign entities vary from glowing green orbs to drifting dark shadows and a young Indian who open cabinets, play havoc with the lights and and learn to imitate the family's voices.
Rather ambitiously, Rogers covers a period of nearly thirty years beginning when her and her new husband began the remodel of an old home that they had relocated to their property. While Lisa knew from the first that something unseen shared her home, her skeptic husband dismissed the frequent oddities as wind or electrical faults. Lisa discovered that acknowledging the ghosts seem to keep them from creating too mischief and given her husbands attitude, kept the going ons to herself. With the births of her daughter and son however, Lisa was validated by their own acceptance of the weird happenings in their home. Lisa shares vignettes from the ghostly encounters most of which are disturbing but not scary. The grandmotherly green orb spends many years watching over the children with the family before fading away, a prankster ghost enjoys imitating voices, calling the family from one empty room to another. 'Albert' a former maintenance man, takes up residence in Wes's carpentry workshop scaring his apprentices with his shuffling gait while an Indian boy seems desperate for company, following family members from room to room. Daughter Keisha learns to keep a wall in her bedroom blank and son, Troy, while outwardly dismissive, modified his own behaviour to accommodate the ghostly house guests. Over time, Wes began to reconsider his firm opposition to the notion of ghosts and together with Lisa they began to investigate the information gathered about the paranormal and become actively involved in 'ghost hunting'.
I found this book interesting though it's a fairly utilitarian and compressed account. The writing is generally good, apparently the author has also self published a few paranormal fiction titles. My copy (an uncorrected proof) had some minor issues that I expect would be taken care of before publication.
I believe in the existence of inexplicable energy so I am predisposed to judge Lisa's account as credible and I had to fight off the chills a time or two. Whether it is true or not is a different matter entirely, I do recommend you visit her website to view the photo's discussed in the book though
Believers, ghost hunters and fans of paranormal investigation shows will likely enjoy the first hand accounts of ghostly events found in On Haunted Ground. I wonder how many people the Roger's will have knocking at their door eager to be introduced to the spirits they live with upon publication of this tell-all.
