I think the writing style was really unexpectedly charming! I went in not really expecting much from this one, so it was a pleasant surprise to see this novel had so much genre-awareness and fun banter between characters. The almost campy way dialogue is written feels fun, and made spending time with these characters such a breeze. I really like Mana, she's an easy to like protagonist and I love the sense of preppy teenage girl humor she has even in tense situations (which can be said about Lyle and Seppie, honestly) That being said, the pace of the writing kind of drops the ball for me story-wise. While it had me engaged in the first half, lafer on it feels too slow in many parts, and I don't find that sense of tension or impact I want to have during more serious moments, neither do I feel as grounded as I'd like in the environments of scenes. The one section I feel did that for me was Lyle's doppelganger moment , but it was one scene that was followed up with a somewhat messy and hard to engage in sequence. That being said, for the characters alone I ended up enjoying Flying enough, and I'm happy to follow the series!
