This is the young readers version but its still full of a lot of details. Malala writes about her life in her hometown in Swat valley before and after the incident that changed her life forever.
Had on idea that the Taliban called out for her by name before the attack. She was fighting for girls education in Pakistan before she was even a teenager.
Book ends with her life in Biringham.
It is pretty clear that she knew she would be changing the world.

The strength, passion, bravery, and determination this young girl has is truly inspirational. She knew speaking up and continuing her education could get her killed by the Taliban, yet she did it anyway. Her compassion for others continued after the assassination attempt, as she was more concerned for how her family would be affected financially than for her own wellbeing. And after all she went through, she continues her activism today for the right for all boys and girls to be educated. She definitely deserved the honor of winning the Nobel Peace Prize and I’m very glad her acceptance speech was included at the end of the book. There is no telling the difference this young lady will make in the world.
If you are in need of a little inspiration….read or listen to this book.

It's shameful that it took me so long to read this book. Such an inspirational and powerful read about an equally inspirational and powerful young woman. It held such fascinating insight into one of the biggest problems we face and I didn't know the whole scope of until now. I implore anyone who is even slightly interested to read this.

I liked this book quite a bit, but do almost wish I had read the adult version instead. There was a definite sense of things going on behind the curtain and I wanted to peek back there. With that said, though, this version has a great sense of voice and a focused narrative to its credit.

I have always valued my education in life, but I’ve never taken the time to step back and see what a privilege it truly is to be an educated female.
Malala has a soul of Gold, is clearly humble, strong, and determined, but the passion expressed while she is speaking of equal education is what is truly mesmerizing to the point of tears for me. She says towards the end that one voice can change the world and this has inspired me as I move forward in to university.
Malala truly is an inspiration in ever sense of the word. I look up to her and will always be proud of her and the millions of other men, woman, and children fighting for their human rights.
