OH MY GODS. This was seriously incredible. I'm very angry now because Rick Riordan hasn't confirmed that Carter and Percy will meet again. Gosh now I'm all anxious. Rick Riordan better make a book or something where the two worlds meet or else.

The fact that Percy Jackson and Carter Kane meets one another, is well, BREATHTAKING!. Egyptian and Greek Mythology crossing each other. Ot's amazing I love everything about it.

This only lost a star because it was too short. Not enough at all. But it was still beyond awesome, I've wanted this to happen since Drew and Lacey showed up in the Kane Chronicles. Rick Riordan delivers!

Its the first official cross-over and its a short story... It was a good read but it lacked the pure awesomeness that we find in the novel by Rick Riordan.

So I have to be honest, I read this for a challenge, I haven't read any of the Percy Jackson stuff (only saw the first movie), and I never heard of Carter and his series.
However, it seems that is not a problem for this book. You still get introductions and stuff is well explained, so even when I didn't read any of the other books in the series that are mentioned, I could still easily follow the story and enjoy it.
And enjoy it I did. I laughed aloud several times because the bantering between Percy and Carter was just fantastic. They are opposites, not only in personality, but also in the way that Percy is fighting Greek stuff and Carter is doing Egyptian stuff. Stuff that made sense for one person, didn't make sense for the other person and visa versa. It was brilliant to see them both be confused at each other. Why is he holding a sword that is all bended? Why is that guy talking about Tartarus? And then the whole conversation about whose crocodile it was, loved it!
Percy's comments about stuff was also fantastic. Here are a few sentences I just have to share with you all:
'What the creeping crud is that? he demanded. 'You're inside a giant glowing chicken-man!'
'So this monster, this pet-suck-o or whatever -'
...but what happened to your sword? It's all bent.'
The battle with the crocodile was exciting and fun!
I really loved the Egyptian mythology part, I am a big fan of that time period and I love to read and watch anything related to Ancient Egypt. I guess I will be sure to see if I can find Carter's books in my library (small chance, but who knows).
All in all, this was a highly enjoyable read, I was worried I might not have a clue what was happening, but I found out that I never needed to worry about anything. :) I would recommend this book to everyone.
