Drew and her friends, Walker Shane and Shana, have revenge planned for the last two years against. Lee and Tabby played a joke at their Halloween party two years ago; it involved having home invasion go on with the attacker wearing a gorilla costume.

This year the four have a plan. And it about to be out to a halt by Dew's mother. She worried about her daughter to go out when four rather big adults have gone missing. But thanks to her father's swaying, he able to let the plan o go on. Drew and Walker go out with Tabby and Lee and were supposed to meet up with the other two later. But then the group run into two jack-o-lantern costumed figures who say they know a good street to trick or treat in. Tabby and Lee are sure that the two pumpkin wearing guys are Shane and Shana and are not scared at all.

Spoiler The six go to the sweet spot and fill their bags full of candy but the jack-o-lantern figures want the other four to continue on the candy grab forever. And when the bags are so full that they take two hands to hold they demand that they eat the candy. Lee and Tabby aren't having any of it and want this to stop. So they tell who they think are the Shane and Shana to knock it off; in response, the jack-o-lanterns heads pull off their head to reveal nothing underneath and then a total of four jack-o-lantern heads surround the four trick o treaters and say that they are going to become pumpkin heads too. This scares Tabby and Lee away- running with pumpkins on their heads.

The two jack-o-lanterns reveal that they are really Shane and Shana. They are aliens. And they are behind the adult disappearances they just like them big so Drew doesn't have to worry- right?

I found the ending shocking but I wished there had been clues to it in the preceding text. Probably okay for the target audience who haven't studied literature really closely. I really didn't like the daydream scene mainly because it would make a great book in of its own right. But the overall build up was nicely done and not too slow that it would have made me stop reading but not too fast that it had nothing too it.

Ich hatte irgendwie erwartet, dass das Buch besser wäre. Meine Schwester hat es dafür etwas zu sehr angepriesen

I liked the beginning of this book but the ending kind ruined it.  It had nice Halloween vibes though.
