There aren’t many books that I wouldn’t give five stars to, but this one really hit in a different way that I feel not a whole lot of other books that I’ve read have. It has such a sad beauty in my opinion, and it’s a short read, which one could say represents how life is short. And because it’s short, and it makes me emotional, I don’t think I’ll ever want to pick it up again. But that’s the great thing about some stories. You don’t need to pick them up again to remember them.

I started reading this when quarantine started because our English teacher assigned it to us. I was quite esthetic because I had been listening to the musical a couple days before she told us about the book. When I started reading the book, I found it ok, nothing felt slow but, at the same time there was no exhilaration from me to read the chapters. I am glad to be able to say that I have read the book, listened to the musical, and watched the movie. Overall my favorite retelling on the Tucks is the musical. I really have nothing else to say of this book, I feel like if I was at the library I would end up reading it because I had seen the movie and loved the musicals soundtrack, i have a hard time thinking about if i would finish the book though, It wasn't a book that i love but it wasn't a book that i would give less than three stars.
