Fun and unlike most things that I've read. I liked the writing style, though I don't love Crichton's penchant for making side characters sound incredibly important to the reader, leaving me confused when they're tossed off. Overall a fun read, would recommend to others who enjoy time travel, science, and Medieval history.

So good. Crichton's characteristic writing style, with uncharacteristic stylistic flourishes. I had to keep reminding myself I was reading a Michael Crichton novel and not one by Dan Brown. Having said that, while the themes may at first seem overtly Brown-like to contemporary readers, remember, Timeline was published a year before Angels & Demons. Crichton is certainly a better writer and more imaginative story teller than Brown. Crichton will be missed.

If someone claims this is their favorite Michael Crichton book, we're probably not going to talk about books anymore.
