for some reason i thought this was gonna be like to all the boys i’ve loved before. it was not lmaoo. it wasn’t what i was expecting really. it was just fine. so much drama that didn’t make sense at all. the main character was so oblivious to the point it didn’t make sense and she just came off obtuse. but it was entertaining enough i guess.

This book was so dang cute and funny. Sometimes idk what I like more, best friends to Lovers or enemies to lovers. I love them both so much. Keeley is the last one of her friends to still be a virgin and she doesn’t know what to do about it. Since all the guys in her small town she's known forever and never considered them an option. When she meets a new HOT College guy, Dean, she knew this was her chance. Keeley is scared to admit to him how inexperienced she actually is. So Andrew, her BFF comes to the rescue. This book was so freakin cute it was just what I needed.

This book was perfection. Ugh the characters were so relatable and it is such a relief to know that we weren’t the only teenagers worrying about things that just don’t matter as much as we believe they do. This book was so charming and comforting. I will say...I’m hungover right now and reading about them drinking so much at prom and grad parties made me very queasy but it was SOO worth it for the ending. I WANT TO HUG THE AUTHOR. Thank you for giving me another YA book to fall in love with.

Well, I’m torn right here.

A part of me liked a lot how it’s approached the issue here, you know, about virginity standards and slut-shaming, I think it was great how the author managed those things and it’s important girls understand that it’s okay to wait if you wanna wait or to do it if you wanna do it. As long that is what you want. And I think through the end of the book our protagonist finally gets it, so I’m happy about that.

Then, the other half of me was incredibly disgusted by some aspects of the book. Mainly, by the kind of “guys” that are portrayed here. No one is saved from being an asshole towards girls, not even Andrew (not until the last chapters, at least) and that both shocked and annoyed me. Not all the guys are like that. I would really have liked to see more empathy from the guys, like the one Chase showed to Keeley.

Above this, I... kinda enjoyed this book. I’d say give it a try and see if you find better aspects to in than me.

3/5 stars.

It wasn’t particularly groundbreaking but a fast, lighthearted read.
