A really good book that makes you think about your own experiences and how they shape you. The book makes you think the same about other people around you as well

I really think everyone should read this book. I already agree with the black lives matter movement however this book gave me an a few eye openers I hadn’t already been thinking about. I teared up a few times (everyone who knows me knows I don’t cry at books or movies) I definitely think this is a good read if you’re trying to understand why people are so upset. Put yourself in their shoes how would you like to experience these things based only on your skin color? You wouldn’t and you know it.

Powerful story of young teenagers of color and the their relationships with adults, white peers, and police. The main character was very funny in the way she expressed all components of life: pain, bravery, having fun, loss, etc.

Everyone needs to read this book. If you can't be bothered to read it, just read the author's note. It has the same message just in 4 pages instead of 438 and it is vital everyone hears it.
