My Review:
Have you been wanting to read something that is a little more cutesy and not so erotic as many of the books  that are sitting on BookTok? This is more than likely the story for you. Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute written by Talia Hibbert is about two teenagers, Celine and Bradley, who have their own issues but despite that, rekindle their relationship to be something more than just simply friends. Celine is a conspiracy-theory loving teen who hopes to one day show her dad that she doesn’t need him. Bradley is an OCD teen who wants to succeed in life. Both Celine and Bradley rekindle their old relationship and eventually become something more while supporting each other.

This sweet YA romance takes place in England where the two begin their journey competing with each other and eventually competing in a retreat in hopes to get a full ride to college. Each competing for their own form of gain. Celine lives with her mom and sister. Her dad is out of the picture, but Celine feels like she needs to prove herself and especially to her absent father who abandoned his family for another. Celine works hard to become a lawyer when in reality it isn’t what she wants to truly do. Celine strives to have perfect grades and show that she is something more than just a conspiracy-theory loving teen. Bradley on the other hand lives a similar, but different life. He lives with his dad and brother, plays sports, and has excellent grades. Bradley joins the competition in hopes to show that he is more than just the popular kid who is in sports. He wants to show Celine that he is more than what he shows. Bradley is a writer and wants to become a writer one day instead of a lawyer like his father believed he would be.

The book is extremely fast paced as one moment they hate each other and later on through the book they begin to show their true feelings for each other before eventually getting together. A big part is finding themselves and communicating with one another. Their past relationship plays a significant role because although they don’t like each other for a good bit of the book, they do eventually show that they care for one another. The author captured what it means to have a mental disorder and how important it is to communicate openly with one another. I enjoyed the fast pace of the book and how quickly the characters grew by the end of the book. Sometimes as teenagers we don’t fully understand the things around us and including the people in our lives until later on. As an adult now, sometimes you don’t realize  the impact you have on other people and especially those close around you.

I would recommend this book if you are looking for a quick read or a YA romance. I thought Hibbert wrote something that was incredibly sweet and touching. I loved reading how these two interacted with each other and how things can change quickly over the course of a small timeframe.

boring... they werent rivals long enough. they didn't even get together until the last chapter of the book and even then they didnt know. also made no mention of after high school. or if they did i didnt follow.
also first audiobook I have ever listened too... my mistake. A lot of the stars were taken because I don't like audiobooks.
