Y’all. It didn’t do it for me.

I’m not a fan of historical fiction so I knew this one was a long shot, but I wanted to give it a chance since my girl recommended it! But alas, I was not entertained. The premise wasn’t bad, but the execution bored me. This story was way longer than it needed to be, the writing was overdramatic, the descriptions were repetitive, and the ending!? WTF WAS THAT!?

The MCs didn’t even sleep together. Which usually I would prefer but like, I needed SOMETHING! I wanted angst/comfort and we technically got that but… it was underwhelming. I wanted a dramatic, over the top love confession and I got… not that?

Ugh. Not for me.
