DISAPPOINTING.

The book title and blurb sounded promising. I was expecting more about bookshop started to reveal itself but waiting and waiting none of that happened as i went. What i got was characters having affairs, cringe romance, life problems. I didn't want to read those because i just don't care. Author could write another book for that genre but for this book i was expecting magical. Like focus on looking for that damn lost bookshop, the lost manuscripts, the clue etc. By 40%, i lost interest and rather use my time to read next book

This book was a cute story and had some cool references and Easter eggs for book lovers. But I really thought that it could have used a ton of editing, especially in the Martha and Henry chapters. Opaline was definitely the interesting character. The unrealistic notions in the Martha and Henry chapters just brought me out of it and I found myself questioning them as narrators entirely. It also felt like the author wrapped their story up entirely too weirdly. It bobbed and weaved and swerved but then came back to tie up neatly in a bow that was supposed to be a plot twist but I saw it coming a mile away because it was predictable.
